Milner of Hahndorf
![]() The “Milner of Hahndorf” wines are only made from grapes sourced exclusively from the cool climate Adelaide Hills. Over the last decade we have developed close relationships with a small number of growers, not only around Hahndorf, but across the Adelaide Hills. We work closely with them right through the season to ensure we get the best possible grapes. This allows us to produce wines which are distinctive, elegant and varietally typical. “The Sculptor” label was inspired by the International Sculpture Symposium which is held bi-annually in Hahndorf. The symposium brings internationally acclaimed sculptors to Hahndorf and then lets them loose with the tools of their trade, to produce the most amazing sculptures, now prominently displayed in the towns and villages of the Adelaide Hills. I was struck by the many parallels between the art of the sculptor and the art of the winemaker. Just as the sculptor chips away at a block of stone, the winemaker carefully tends to his grapes in the vineyard and devotes all his skills in the winery to sculpting the best wine he can. Our objective is to produce wines which have a sense of fun, varietal style and which offer great value for money and to that end we carefully select the grapes and our winemaker employs all his artistry to sculpt elegant, fruit driven wines, which we hope you enjoy. |

We love the idea of the artistic creativity involved in a sculpted masterpiece being applied to winemaking...
